Summers on the farm are like heaven on earth. Each year we marvel at the harvest we glean from the wondrous earth. Our orchard is but steps from our home, and each year we wait most patiently for each of the different fruit trees to bloom, and then watch as the blooms fade, disappear, and then tiny little bulges appear. Each day the different trees will be in their own pace developing their fruits as if to tease our taste buds with flavors only imagined. Fresh from the trees - sometimes warm from the sun - the fruits drip with juice. Children know instinctively just when the best day has arrived to climb the gnarled trunks and reach for the fat treasures weighting the limbs nearly to the ground. Little chins and hands will drip with the juices. Nothing like the burst of a fresh peach. If one can manage to pluck a few from the old trees and wisk them away to the kitchen they make the most heavenly cobblers and pies and jams. Slice some into a bowl and pour on thick cream - a contribution from Bessie the cow. By the time you return to your bowl from the spoon drawer the peaches and cream have begun to mingle. No sugar needed. The pink coloring is now dying the slightly pale yellow cream. Jersey cows have that lovely french cream colored milk.

Here is the image in mind when I began to choose just the right color to honor this lovely very tightly spun superwash. Very nice drape in this yarn.
