How do you engrave the glassware?

We use sandblasting, which is the premier method for engraving glass. Sandblasting produces a deep, even mark, and it allows for complete design flexibility. It produces the finest result of all the available engraving methods.


How does sandblasting work?
-------------------------------------------

In sandblasting, an individual vinyl cut image or film mask is made and hand applied to each glass. The negative space is then blasted in a cabinet by a high pressure stream of air and abrasive. The positive space of the vinyl or mask protects the glass areas that will remain clear, while the abrasive carves away the glass in the areas to be engraved. The result is an artistic expression on the glass.

Will the engraving be permanent?

Absolutely. It is carved into the glass. Unlike screen printed glasses, the engraving will never wash, chip, or wear off. Yes you can even put your glasses in the dishwasher.

:::Shipping Breakage:::

There is always the possibility of breakage when shipping glass items, no matter how well they are packaged. We will issue replacements or refunds for any glass that may be broken during shipping, at no cost to the customer. However please note the following:

- We must be notified of the breakage no later than 5 business days from the date of delivery per the tracking information from USPS or FedEx/UPS. If breakage is not reported within that time frame you forfeit the option for a replacement item. Because of the general fragile nature of glass we must limit the time frame of reports.

- Photos of broken glassware along with images of the outer box will need to be taken and emailed to us directly at jennifer@glassblasted.com

- Broken glass items and packaging should temporarily be held in case our carrier elects to come inspect or recover the damaged goods.

- Replacements will normally be shipped via the same shipping method that was selected on the order form. If Ground shipping was used for the original order, it will also be used for the replacement shipment.

- Because everything we make is hand crafted the replacement will be as close as possible to the original but can have variances.

We will immediately replace an item at no charge if we make an error on the the item that was sent if it was not what was ordered. With custom orders in which specific verbiage and or graphics are being used we will send images to the supplied customer via etsy email for approval before items are created.

:::Cancellations/Changes:::

Custom orders are able to be fully cancelled prior to order production. Production will typically start anywhere from 1-10 days after order is placed. However, refunds cannot be given once orders items have been produced. Changes may be made at any time prior to order production, however if art has been applied to the glass already there may be a charge to redo the photo resist.

:::Turnaround Time/Deadlines:::

All items are made to order therefore your glass order could be made within 1-10 days after ordering. We strive to produce and ship orders very quickly. However, shipping transit time still applies to your order after it leaves our facility. Please note that USPS & Ground transit times do vary significantly depending on your location. There can be customs charges depending on country, these fees are paid by the buyer not seller. These are separate fees from postage. If fees are due you will get notification from your local shipping service.

Please keep in mind that if an item is broken, stolen , missing or misdelivered we are not liable and there is no insurance on items shipped with first class. There are no refunds available on these items.

Once your package shows it has been delivered we have no control over what happens to it from that point on. We are not responsible for misdelivered or stolen items. If you would like to upgrade shipping to priority please let us know in the comments when checking out so we can make a listing for the difference.
