The Ansco Lancer was made by Bilora for Ansco in the late 1950s. The camera is nearly identical to the Bilora Bella. It's got a satisfyingly sturdy, but not too heavy, all-metal body. You have two different apertures to choose from. The Sconar lens will focus as close as 3 feet away. There are two available shutter speeds: 1/100 and 1/50. Both seem to be working correctly. The viewfinder is clear.

The back of the camera is removed entirely to load film. The orange frame window in the back is covered up by a sliding metal door which helps to prevent light leaks. There is a double exposure prevention mechanism, in that you have to advance the film before you take another picture. There is a hot shoe for a flash on top of the camera.

The Lancer takes 127 film which is slightly larger than 35mm. 127 film is still available new from places online like Freestyle Photographic Supplies. Also, if you have an empty 127 spool you can spool 35mm onto it and run through this camera to get pictures with sprocket holes in them.

The Ansco Lancer comes with one 127 film spool, strap, and original box. The inside of the box is missing, and two of the corners on the top of the box have torn and have been patched up with clear tape. It still looks nice for display purposes, though.
