Build a 48 in cedar fence with three horizontal rails per bay and continuous black welded wire mesh infill. This plan covers two builds: the fence itself for a straight run or full yard perimeter, and an optional matching gate that drops into the same post pattern. The ebonizing technique in this plan (iron acetate finish on cedar posts and caps) is the same finish you will use on any future outdoor project where you want warm cedar to read against near-black posts. You learn it by building something you actually want.
