Common Wormwood Seeds — Artemisia absinthium

Choose a packet of 100 or 500 seeds of Artemisia absinthium, commonly known as common wormwood. It is an aromatic, silver-leaved perennial herb. Established plants can seed or spread where conditions suit them, so thoughtful siting and containment are appropriate. Seeds are supplied for ornamental and botanical cultivation; no plants are included.

Sowing

Sow the very small seeds on the surface of fine, free-draining compost. Press them into contact without burying deeply and water with a fine spray. Keep the surface evenly moist during establishment, provide bright light and allow regular air exchange. Thin or transplant seedlings before they become crowded.

Care

Choose a sunny, well-drained position and avoid persistently wet soil. Water young plants during establishment, then adapt irrigation to local conditions. Trim flowering stems before seed matures if self-sowing is not wanted. Artemisia absinthium is restricted, invasive or discouraged in some regions, so check local guidance before outdoor planting and prevent escape into natural areas. This listing makes no beverage, culinary, medicinal or therapeutic claim. Avoid ingestion and wear gloves if aromatic foliage irritates sensitive skin.

Storage

Keep unused seed labelled and sealed in a cool, dry, dark place, protected from humidity, heat and pests.
