A special typewriter indeed! With it's racing stripes, the Smith-Corona Silent-Super is such a charmer. This particular model was one of Smith Corona's best typewriters - and for good reason! While the typewriter itself was portable, it featured functionality akin to a desktop writing machine.

The textured gunmetal finish is accented by forest green stripes, keys, logo, and even a forest green paper table! It has a very faded inscription of its original owner on the front base -- it appears to read E.W.Fulks. The machine has an 88 character keyboard, tab set and clear functions, and an interchangeable platen. It measures roughly 11"w by 13"d by 5"h.

The typewriter is in lovely aesthetic condition. There are a few areas where it appears some white correction fluid was dripped, and it doesn't want to come off. None of the keys stick in my testing, and the carriage return glides along without a hitch, letting off an endearing "ding" at the end of each line. This machine could no doubt use a new ribbon as well as a bit of a tune-up by a professional.

The typewriter sits contently in a hardshell "holiday" case, snapping securely into it, and able to be released with the push of a button. The camel-colored tweed-like case is sturdy as can be, though it does have some worn corners. It has a black plastic handle on the exterior and a lock, sans key.

Please note, this machine has not been serviced by me nor examined by a typewriter expert while in my ownership. I give my typewriters a good surface cleaning but essentially sell them as-is, thus am able to offer them for much less than other sites like www.mytypewriter.com for example, where the machines are restored by professional technicians and examined for any necessary repairs. Feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them.

The typewriter will be packed and shipped with great care, and insured against loss or damage.
