The documents aren't lost. The map is.

You already own the passport, the policy, the deed and the beneficiary form. What you probably do not own is one index of where each of them lives, when it expires, and who else could find it. That is why the failure is never "we didn't have it" — it is "we couldn't find it, and nobody knew it had lapsed".

This is that index. Twenty connected tabs, one row per document, and a countdown that does the remembering for you.

IT STORES NO PASSWORDS. NOT ONE. No password field. No PIN field. No 2FA field. No full account or card numbers, no Social Security numbers, no passport numbers, no licence numbers. There is no cell for any of them anywhere in the workbook, and that is a design decision rather than an oversight. What it records instead is the institution, the account nickname, the LAST FOUR DIGITS only, and one column that does the real work: where the credential lives — which safe, which box, which password manager, which trusted person already holds the access key. Those are facts about your house, not secrets about your money, which is exactly what makes this file safe to keep in Google Drive, safe to print, and safe to hand to somebody.

WHAT THE FILE FINDS — from the shipped sample (the Bennetts, a written household, not a customer)
· 48 documents indexed in one Sunday morning, with room for two hundred.
· 1 already expired — a passport card that lapsed in a filing cabinet and that nobody had thought about in years. 2 more expiring inside the 90-day window. The next one is 45 days out.
· 3 documents with no recorded location. The household owns all three and cannot say where they are, which for practical purposes is the same as not having them.
· 1 beneficiary designation last reviewed 85 months ago. A beneficiary form beats a will.
· $2,229.84 a year still billing across 7 subscriptions — $371.76 of it, 16.7%, on two services nobody has opened since January.
· An overall completeness score of 71.9%, which is not a failure. It is a to-do list.

WHAT'S INSIDE — 20 connected tabs
· Start Here — the security boundary in full, three steps, the setup cells, the tab map.
· Dashboard — the next expiry and the days remaining, what is missing, what is stale.
· Document Index — the master register. Document, owner, both locations, dates, a countdown.
· Identity & Vital Records — birth, marriage, adoption, citizenship, Social Security cards.
· Passports & Travel IDs — the 5-year rule for children applied automatically, plus the six-month destination date, Global Entry and PreCheck cycles, and REAL ID status.
· Licences & Registrations — driver licences on your state's own cycle, vehicles, inspection and emissions with a county field, professional licences and their CE.
· Insurance Policies — home, auto, umbrella, life, disability, health, pet.
· Coverage Detail — replacement cost vs actual cash value in the NAIC's own words, the standard ISO HO-3 special-limits table beside a column for yours, riders, and the umbrella check.
· Home Inventory — room by room, built for a claim, with a documentation score per item.
· Financial Accounts — last four digits only, and where the credential lives.
· Beneficiaries — primary, contingent, per stirpes or per capita, and a review flag.
· Property & Titles — deed, mortgage, titles, the safe deposit box, and the capital-improvement log that decides your cost basis.
· Tax Records — the correct IRS retention rule applied per year, with the keep-until date computed.
· Subscriptions & Recurring — monthly equivalent, annual total, cancellation method, unused flag.
· Digital Access Plan — Apple Legacy Contact, Google Inactive Account Manager, Facebook legacy contact, password-manager emergency access. Gaps are visible by design.
· Medical & Prescriptions — providers, medications as labelled, allergies, directives.
· Key People — the professionals somebody else would need to reach, and whether they know to.
· If Something Happens — the one-page hand-off, assembled from your own call order.
· Review Calendar — FEMA's own review triggers, hung on moments you already notice.
· Reference & Sources — every figure with its body, its date, its URL and the date it was checked.

WHO THIS IS FOR Anyone who has just bought a house, had a child, changed jobs, or watched a relative try to find a document under pressure. Anyone who has been meaning to "get organised" for three years and needs the job broken into rows. Anyone who wants a spouse or an adult child to be able to pick this up cold.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT Most of this category is an undated printable checklist: it tells you what to find, and then it is a piece of paper. This tells you where it is, and it counts the days. Every row has an expiry date and a real countdown against today. Every document has a location column and a second-copy column, and a blank one is flagged rather than left looking finished. The Tax Records tab applies the actual IRS period-of-limitations table per year instead of repeating the folk seven-year rule — the default is three years, and seven fits exactly one line. The Beneficiaries tab flags the form that has gone quietly out of date. And there is no password field anywhere.

WHAT YOU GET
· Life-Admin-Important-Documents-Command-Center.xlsx, plus the same workbook in Light, Dark and Colorful
· IF-SOMETHING-HAPPENS.pdf — a one-page hand-off to print and put in the fire safe
· GRAB-LIST.pdf — the ten-minute evacuation document checklist, built from FEMA's four categories
· Quick-Start.pdf — the first hour, in order
· ACCESS-YOUR-TEMPLATE.pdf — one click opens your own copy in Google Sheets
· README - Start Here.txt and LICENSE.txt

HOW IT ARRIVES — instant download, four colour themes, one file that opens in Microsoft Excel and in Google Sheets. No macros, no add-ons, no subscription, nothing that reaches the internet. Lifetime updates.

STEP ONE IS TWELVE CELLS Your state, your county, your driver-licence renewal cycle, where the fire safe is, which password manager you use, and how many days' warning you want. Every other tab reads those by name. Then walk the house once with the Document Index open.

HONEST ENGINEERING 4,145 formulas · recalculated clean in all four themes · 1285/1285 independent math checks · every screen in this listing is a render of the real recalculated file, not a mock-up. The figures shown are a worked sample, not a customer: the Bennetts are a fictional household, their account digits and policy numbers are invented, and their rows type over in one pass when you are ready for your own.

PLEASE READ This is a filing index and a countdown. It is not legal, tax, insurance or medical advice, and it is not an estate-settlement tool — it stops at "here is where everything is". It does not tell you that you have a federal one-click right to cancel a subscription, because no such rule is in effect: the FTC's amended Negative Option Rule was vacated in July 2025 and the new rulemaking has adopted nothing. It prints no single national number for anything that varies by state — driver-licence cycles run from 2 to 12 years, inspection and emissions rules differ county by county, and vital-record fees are set state by state, so the file prints the range, cites the source, and asks you to enter your own. Every outside figure carries its publication date and the date it was checked. Anything that could not be verified was demoted to a cream input cell or left out.
