Another design featuring vintage faux pearls…
Beautifully antiqued silver plated fleur de lis post findings perfectly complement these lovely, lovely vintage faux pearls. These faux pearls are vintage Japanese glass pearls from the 1930’s. Yes, these lovelies are 70+ years old. Since they were all individually made, the pearls have some variation in size and shape (averaging 12-13 mm). There is a grey taupe-ish cast to the pearl luster that is enhanced by the silver for a very elegant look.

These pearls came complete with original tiny beadcaps and headpins, which are preserved in this design. Although they have never been previously used, these beads do show their age in the following ways – there is patina to their luster, and their original embedded wires and beadcaps show oxidation. These are earrings for those of you who enjoy the rich character of antique vintage beads.

From the very top of the fleur de lis to the very bottom of the pearl measures just under 1 1/4 inch. The earrings are finished with sterling silver earring backs. Romantic and perfect for any place, any time.

For additional designs featuring vintage faux pearls, see the "vintage pearls" section in the shop.
