Cross-stitched ukrainian wedding towel. Traditional embroidered towel-rushnyk. Towel is embroidered on linen in blue and dark blue colors.
The size of the towel is 200 cm*35cm (59 inch*13.8 inch). On the edge of the towel is decorated with cotton lace. Machine embroidery cross stitch. Linen 100%. Can be used as wedding towel or as a home decor.
A rushnyk is a embroidered towel. Rushnyk is used in a double meaning. It retains its simple meaning of “towel”. According to Ukrainian traditions, rushnik is the guardian of every house and family.
Rushnyk is a very important item to which a great deal of power is ascribed. It is used to secure a wedding, to protect the home and insure the prosperity and fertility of the inhabitants of the household, among other things. In ancient times, without a towel, not one important event happened. Wedding, the birth of a child, the meeting of dear guests-in every rite there was a towel.

I ordered this rushnyk also from Inna for my wedding, and it more than exceeded my expectations - it is beautiful. Inna's designs are the best I have seen, and the quality is excellent. It looks like the picture shown on her shop, and was shipped within the estimated time frame. Inna followed up with a message after I ordered the product, which I appreciated.
