THE SECTION ORDER

1. Licenses & Certifications — RN licence, NCLEX, BLS, ACLS, with numbers and
expiry dates. First, because that is what gets checked first.
2. Professional Summary — three lines. Your strongest rotation and the unit
you are applying to.
3. Clinical Rotations — hospital, unit, hours, patient load. This is your
experience section.
4. Clinical Skills — written the way postings write them, so they get matched.
5. Education — BSN or ADN, honours, capstone if it is relevant.
6. Healthcare Experience — CNA, tech, scribe, EMT, caregiver. Most new grads
leave this out and it is often the strongest thing they have.

Steps 1, 3 and 4 are what a general template does not give you.

THE NURSING KEYWORD LIST

· Units — written in full and abbreviated, because postings use both.

Used inside real sentences, never as a bare list at the bottom — which reads as

ROTATIONS ARE EXPERIENCE. WRITE THEM LIKE IT.

Most new grads write: "Provided patient care under supervision on a
medical-surgical unit."

BUILT TO GET THROUGH THE FILTER

Large hospital systems run the strictest application filters in any industry.
Four structural choices do the work, and none of them are visible to the human
reading your resume:

· Single column. Two columns get read straight across, so your sentences
interleave into nonsense.
· Contact details in the body, not the page header. Many systems never read the
header region at all.
· Dates on a tab stop, not in a table. Table cells get flattened into one
unreadable string.
· Real bullet list formatting. A typed bullet character is a symbol; a list is
structure, and structure is what gets read.

No tables, no text boxes, no icons, no skill rating bars, no photos.

1. Open in Microsoft Word, or upload to Google Docs (File → Open → Upload).
Also opens in Pages and LibreOffice.
2. Replace the grey italic prompts with your own details.
3. Delete any section that doesn't apply, then save as PDF.

❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED

I haven't taken NCLEX yet. Can I still use this?
Yes, and the guide shows you exactly how to write it — pending, with a date.
"NCLEX-RN scheduled June 2026" beats leaving the section off, which is what gets
a file discarded.

Is the experienced version included, or separate?
Included. Three .docx files, the guide and a plain text version in one download.

Do I need Microsoft Word?
No. Google Docs opens and edits them for free, and so do Pages and LibreOffice.

Will this guarantee me an interview?
No honest seller can promise that. Filters differ between hospital systems and
what you write matters as much as the format. What this removes are the
structural reasons a strong application is discarded before anyone reads it.

Can I resell or share these?
No. They're for your own job applications.
