A little burst of red, white, and blue sunshine—this Patriotic Palm brings a coastal celebration to life in hand-twisted wire.

Created as my handmade tribute to America’s 250th anniversary, this one-of-a-kind palm sculpture celebrates red, white, blue, and gold. I wanted to create something patriotic with wire, so I gave one of my palm trees a bright new personality.

The blue trunk is woven with gold wire in a Kumihimo-style braid. Hand-formed white wire coconuts are nestled beneath the canopy, while flowing white wire grass, flowers, and fallen palm fronds add detail around the base. The palm fronds are individually sculpted in a flowing, artistic style, giving the piece a lively, celebratory movement rather than a strictly realistic look.

Mounted on a rounded-edge square oak base, this approximately 8-inch-tall sculpture makes a distinctive piece of patriotic décor for a home, office, or collection.

The Details

• The Palm: The trunk is hand-formed using Kumihimo-style braiding, giving the palm a strong yet flowing character.

• The Canopy: A full crown of individually sculpted palm fronds, shaped in a flowing, artistic style to give the tree its distinctive movement and character. Hand-formed white wire coconuts are nestled beneath the canopy, adding another playful detail to the patriotic design.

• The Base: A handcrafted oak base accented with flowing white wire grass and flowers, along with fallen palm fronds that carry the tropical design down to the base.

• One of a Kind: Every part of the palm is individually formed and shaped by hand, giving this sculpture its own movement and character from every angle.
