HOW IT WORKS
1. Open Settings. Set your labor rate, overhead %, and the gross margin you want to keep.
2. Open Materials. Enter each purchase the way you actually buy it, and set yield % for anything that produces scraps.
3. Open Product Costing. Name the product and say how many the batch makes.

FAQ

Q: Does this work in Excel and Google Sheets?
A: Both. Google Sheets: File > Import, or open and make a copy. Excel 365: open it directly. No macros, no add-ons, nothing to install.

Q: Which units can I buy and use in?
A: Weight, volume, count, length and area. Grams to pounds, milliliters to gallons, millimeters to yards, square centimeters to square feet, and each or dozen.

Q: Why does my line cost show zero?
A: You bought the material in one family and used it in another — length into area, or weight into volume. Convert the purchase to the family you work in.

Q: How do I cost cutting waste?
A: Yield %. If a pattern yields 78% of a hide, enter 78 and the workbook spreads the other 22% across every piece.

Q: I'm not confident with spreadsheets. Will I manage?
A: Yes. The white cells are the only ones you touch. The Quick-Start Guide has your first real number on screen in about five minutes, and if you get stuck, message me.
