Description

Wow! The painterly screen print image of LARGE flowers here is so vibrant & lively! Classic, early-1960's colors: deep turquoise, warm olive, and accents in cornflower blue, on a ever-so-subtly minty-white background.

Fabric is a soft & just-crisp-enough, lightly polished cotton poplin (see close-ups to see the very, very slight sheen). Print runs cross-grain (selvedge edges oriented top/bottom of one-way print). Ideal for skirts/dresses or decor & craft projects.

Condition is excellent: no fade, holes, or smell. Only flaw is dark ghost of the original price/retailer sticker on selvedge (see 4th image); this may soak out or be lighted with laundering.

Measures: 37" wide x 1yard + 30" long (66" continuous yardage)
weight: 6.9 oz.

Lay-away & payment plans: yes & yes!
Let's negotiate terms ***before your purchase*** My usual offer is for 30% to 50% down, total balance due within 4 weeks, but I'm flexible, so hit me up with your plan.

Orders shipped to Washington State addresses are automatically charged applicable sales tax for the state + your (ship-to) zip code.

Returns and exchange details

Because all of my garments are hand-made & one-of-a-kind, this shop has a ***NO REFUNDS*** policy (see final paragraph below for damage in transit). If you're at all unsure about a garment that you like, why not send me a message/convo. before purchasing? I'm happy to give advice about fit, style, & feel/fabrics; we can even skype or email pics back & forth to discuss fit questions, measurements, or possible alterations.

Because I also sincerely want you to love (& love wearing) your HissyFit clothes, ***I do accept RETURNS in EXCHANGE for store credit*** which can be applied towards another ready-made garment or even used for a custom-made garment from my website.

Exchange Rules = within 14 days of delivery, send me an Etsy convo or email hissyfitoly@yahoo.com to request a return; then ship the item back to me, in the same condition as it was sent to you (I suggest tracking + insurance on return shipments, just to cover your risk/loss in transit). I will notify you when the return arrives here. Exchange credit does not include shipping costs (to you + from you), but it also isn't dinged for any "restocking fee" or other nonsense (meaning, you get more credit, less run-around).

If your order arrives damaged, please contact me right away (+ photograph & keep any damaged garments & packaging), so I can start the claim-filing process with the insurer & work to make it right = refund, replacement garment, entirely new garment. If your order fails to arrive within 18 business days (USA) or 36 business days (International), please let me know I & will work to track down your package &/or file an insurance claim to reimburse this loss.

Shipping policies

Listed shipping charges reflect the best, lowest-priced option given the weight of the garment + (minimal) packaging:
• USA under 4 pounds = 1st class or parcel select = normally 3 to 9 business days delivery time
• INTERNATIONAL under 4 pounds = 1st class international package = normally 8 to 20 business days delivery time (varies based on customs delays)
• ALL ORDERS over 4 pounds = Priority Mail = 2 or 3 business days USA, 6 to 10 business days International

*** International customers ***
please note that your purchase payment DOES NOT cover any customs fees, VAT, or other import duties that may be assessed by your national authorities. You are responsible for these fees & I cannot mark your package as a "gift" or change the declared value on the customs form. HissyFit clothes are all handmade (by me) to fit and last. Because I use all kinds of vintage materials, each item I make is one-of-a-kind & will never be made exactly the same again--kind of like you, right?.

MEASUREMENTS & SIZING:
Okay, back by popular demand, I've included "sizing" numbers in shop sections & descriptions *but* I still think that: (a) modern clothing "sizing" is totally bogus and unreliable, (b) different body types don't actually "fit" pre-set sizes which are based on some ideal, "proportional" dummy, & (c) since you can't try stuff on (on-line) the only way to tell if clothes will FIT---and actually fit you *well*, not just fit *on* you---is to use real measurements.

Seriously, I make clothes for my living, full-time, and I've seen a 10"+ difference in basic, body measurements from customers who "wear the same size" in off-the-rack clothing. This is NOT our fault, it's just the stupidity of modern women's clothing sizing. Don't let a number define you! Your body is unique & beautiful, so let's make some clothes that fit your body, not "everybody".

I strongly suggest comparing the measurements provided in item descriptions to those of similar clothes you own & like (this is the easiest way to judge fit); or compare these to your body measurements, adding ease-of-wear (2 to 5 inches through bust, waist, & hips, depending on how tight/loose you like your clothes to fit).

For details about how take your measurements (step by step, with pictures), check out: http://www.hissyfitoly.com/how-to-measure.html

If you're at all concerned about if an item will fit, I'm here to help--I've been custom fitting "hard to fit" bodies (including my own) for years. Just send me a convo. (click the "contact the seller" or "contact hissyfitoly" links). I want my clothes and, more importantly, YOU to look fabulous, so I'll try my best to give you honest feedback and descriptions.

Handmade FYI:
Prices reflect the cost of my (skilled) labor and materials. I gave myself a "raise" this year (from $12 to a whopping $15 an hour!), and I know everyone loves a deal, but I'm not willing to sell my (skilled) labor for less than this amount. Please respect this (and me) when/if you request a deal or price reduction.

Readymade dresses (what you see in my shop) take 3 to 10+ hours to make (plus the initial design and pattern-drafting time); skirts take 1 to 4 hours. Custom garments usually take a minimum of 6 hours to alter designs, (re)draft patterns, cut, sew, and finish.

My material costs are lower because I use vintage yardage and remnants (which cost less + are of better quality than many modern fabrics). But, using vintage materials also means that my design and production time is greater, since I'm often working with limited fabric (so, I need to be more "creative" and careful with piecing, layout, and cutting versus if I had whole bolts of new fabric). Oh, and I spend hours hunting for beautiful, larger pieces of vintage yardage (I think this counts as my "hobby"?).

Basically, I'm saying that one-of-a-kind clothing takes more time & costs a bit more, but is totally worth it, when you end up with a one-of-a-kind garment made just for you.

(the *best* source for striped & polka dot socks + fishnets, with a separate plus-size section where they give actual stretch measurements for calves so you know they'll fit!)
