WHAT HAPPENS AT THE TABLE

Three rounds, each one built the same way. You read a round card aloud. Every player reads their statement for that round straight off the page. Then you open a sealed packet of clue cards and hand them out to be read out loud. Then everyone argues, accuses each other, and changes their mind twice. After the third round each player writes a name on an accusation sheet. Then you open the sealed solution and read the reveal script, which walks the table through the evidence and rules out all seven innocent suspects by the exact clue that clears them.

THE FOUR QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK BEFORE THEY BUY

Can the host play? Yes. The solution is a separate sealed PDF with a do-not-open cover page, and the 24 clue cards go into three numbered packets you seal without reading. There is nothing for you to give away, because you genuinely do not know. When a guest asks whether they are close, the honest answer is that the envelope knows and you do not. One honest caution, printed in the host guide as well: one of the eight booklets tells the person holding it that they are the murderer, so if you deal yourself in blind, that person could be you. If you would rather not take the chance, hand all eight booklets to your guests and take a witness seat.

How long does it last? 90 to 120 minutes for the full three round game, with a minute by minute timeline in the host guide showing real clock times. A 60 minute Short Play is built into the same file for a weeknight.

Does it work with four people? Yes, properly. Four is the floor, not a compromise. At four players each person holds two suspect booklets and reads both, using a printed pairing chart that keeps any one player from holding both ends of something the table is supposed to piece together out loud.

HOW IT WORKS AT 4 PLAYERS AND AT 20

There are always exactly eight suspects. Player count only changes who reads them. At 4 to 7 players, people double up using the printed ladder, and the pairs nest, so losing a guest moves you down exactly one row and nothing else changes. At 8, one booklet each, which is the cleanest version. At 9 to 20, extra guests take Witness roles from the 12 witness cards. A witness holds real evidence, gets questioned like anyone else, and can never be the murderer. Their card says so on the first line, so nobody spends the evening feeling like a spare part. Witnesses are also the right seat for a guest who is nervous about being put on the spot.

WHAT YOU NEED FROM YOUR HOUSE

A printer, and black and white is fine. Scissors or a paper trimmer. Five envelopes, any envelopes, three for the round packets, one for the solution, one for the casting slips. Tape or stickers to seal them. A pen for every player. A phone or kitchen timer. A table everyone can hear across. Once the printing is done, cutting and sealing takes about twenty five minutes, less with a second pair of hands. You do not need costumes, props, a cooked meal, or a big house.

THE 60 MINUTE SHORT PLAY

Built into the kit, not sold separately. Short Play replaces the second round of clue cards with a printed Alibi Board and lands the whole evening at 60 minutes. The mystery still solves cleanly. Nothing is removed from the evidence, it is only delivered faster. Use it on a weeknight, or when somebody at the table has a babysitter clock running.
