A stack of POS reports shows what got rung up. It doesn't show, in one place, what actually landed once food cost, booth or vendor fees and propane & fuel come out of every single event — plus the running costs of keeping a truck on the road: commissary rental, insurance, permits, maintenance, marketing.

This is a worked six-month example: one food truck, 110 events — farmers markets, downtown lunch service, private catering, corporate lunch catering, festivals, brewery nights, weekend park service. $29,362 in gross sales becomes $7,928 of net income once everything is subtracted — a 27% margin a pile of POS reports never states outright.

WHAT IS IN THE DOWNLOAD
• The filled-in example workbook (six months, 110 events, worked all the way through)
• The same workbook, blank — ready for your own numbers
• A plain-English PDF guide (00_START_HERE)
• A short video walkthrough of how the sheet works

THE THREE THINGS TO FILL IN
1. Setup — your name, business name, and the blended food cost rate (as a percentage of gross sales) you run. Change it and every event recalculates.
2. Events — one row per event: date, venue, event type, hours, booth/vendor fee, propane & fuel cost and gross sales. Food cost, event cost and net event profit all calculate automatically.
3. Expenses — commissary kitchen rental, insurance, permits, truck maintenance and marketing, the running costs a pile of POS reports never shows.

WHAT THE DASHBOARD SHOWS
Events worked, hours on site, gross sales, booth/vendor fees, propane & fuel, food cost, other overhead, and net income after everything — the one number most food truck owners have never actually worked out for their own season. In the example: 110 events, $29,361.88 gross, $7,927.79 net, 27.0% margin.

WHAT EACH TAB DOES
• Start Here — what to do, in three steps
• Setup — your name, business and blended food cost rate
• Events — every event and every deduction it triggered
• Expenses — the running costs outside any single event
• Dashboard — headline numbers, a month-by-month table, and every event ranked by net profit

READING "EVERY EVENT BY NET PROFIT"
What you gross is a misleading ranking on its own. A big festival can look impressive on a POS summary and still net less than a quiet weekend park service once the booth fee and food cost are subtracted. This table ranks every event by what it actually paid you, automatically, pulled straight from the Events tab.

EXCEL AND GOOGLE SHEETS
Built as .xlsx. Opens in Excel 2016 and later on Windows and Mac, and in Google Sheets through File → Import → Upload, "Replace spreadsheet." Formulas carry over. No macros, nothing to enable.

HONEST LIMITS
• It does not connect to your POS system or bank account, or pull events automatically — you type them in
• Food cost, booth/vendor fees and propane vary by market and by event, so every number on Setup and Events is editable to match yours exactly
• It assumes one blended food cost rate applied to every event — a truck with very different menus per event will need a small tweak to the formulas
• It tracks what an event grossed and cost, not self-employment tax or quarterly filings — this is not a tax return
• The example owner and business are invented; the arithmetic behind the food cost and fees is not

I never ask for access to your POS system, your bank, or your listing account. No password, no login, no app permissions. If something in the file doesn't work for you, message me through Etsy and I'll fix it and send it back.
