WHAT YOU GET — SEVEN ACTIONS

RUNWAY WIND
Name a runway and the key gives you the crosswind and headwind components from the live wind. XW12L means twelve knots of crosswind from the left. HW23 is your headwind. A tailwind gets its own word, TW04, and always turns the key red, because that is a different hazard. There is a box for your field's magnetic variation — a coded METAR is true and a runway number is magnetic — and a box for YOUR crosswind limit, because only you know what you and your airplane can do. Nothing else on the Stream Deck marketplace does this.

DENSITY ALTITUDE
The number that catches people out in July. Computed from the live temperature, altimeter setting and field elevation, showing both the figure and how far above the field it puts you. Press for pressure altitude and the ISA deviation.

NEAREST VFR
"Where can I actually fly today?" One key finds the closest airfields reporting VFR, with distance and bearing, and pages through the next four. Search around an airport you choose or around you.

AIRPORT WEATHER
Live METAR for any airport on earth, color-coded the way every pilot already reads it: VFR green, MVFR blue, IFR red, LIFR magenta. One glance answers "can I fly today?". Press for wind, visibility and ceiling, then the forecast, then sunrise, sunset and civil twilight with a countdown.

FLIGHT BAG
Put ANY aviation website on a key — NOTAMs, TFRs, charts, briefing, fuel prices, winds aloft, LiveATC. Twenty-nine are ready to go, and you can add your own. Put {ICAO} in your URL and the key follows whichever airport you set, so one key means "NOTAMs for wherever I'm flying today" instead of a bookmark to a search box.

TRACK FLIGHT
Type a flight number off a boarding pass — AA3547 — and get its route, how far along it is, an arrival estimate, the aircraft flying it, and the weather where it lands. That last one turns "where is the airplane" into "is it going to get in", which is the actual question when you are meeting someone.

RADAR (FULL DECK)
One key. Press it and your entire Stream Deck becomes a single radar scope centred on you, showing the real aircraft overhead. Airliners draw as swept chevrons, light aircraft as crosses, gliders as a long span, helicopters as a turning rotor disc. Press the arrow in the corner to come back.

- A color-blind-safe palette. The standard convention puts VFR green against IFR red — the exact pair around one man in twelve cannot separate — so one switch moves the whole plugin to colors that stay readable under every common form of color blindness.

HONEST LIMITS — PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING

This is an awareness tool. It is NOT a legal weather briefing and NOT for navigation: there is no airspace, no terrain, no obstructions and no frequencies in it. Get a proper briefing before every flight.

The runway wind and altitude figures are ADVISORY. They are standard approximations computed from an observation that can be up to an hour old. Every key shows the age of its report and dims when it goes stale. Your aircraft flight manual, the current ATIS and the tower are the authority.

There is no gate, no scheduled time and no delay information, and there never will be. No aircraft broadcasts its gate — that data is sold by airlines, not transmitted over the radio. The plugin says so rather than inventing it.

Most of the curated Flight Bag links are US/FAA services. Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand have their own sections, some links work worldwide, every entry is tagged with its region, and any site you add yourself works anywhere. The weather, radar, flight tracking and all the calculations are global.


WHAT YOU NEED

Elgato Stream Deck app 6.6 or newer, on Windows 10+ or macOS 12+. Works on the Stream Deck MK.2, XL, Mini, Plus and Neo. An internet connection for everything except the sunrise and sunset times, which are worked out on your own machine.


HOW TO INSTALL

Download the file, double-click it, and the Stream Deck app installs it. The new actions appear in a "Flight Deck" category in your actions list. Drag one onto a key and type an airport code.


WHERE THE DATA COMES FROM

Weather from the NOAA/FAA Aviation Weather Center (a US government work, public domain). Aircraft positions from the adsb.lol and adsb.fi community networks under ODbL 1.0. Flight routes from adsbdb. Nothing is sent to me, there is no analytics, and your settings never leave your computer.
