WHY IT READS LIKE A REAL INSPECTION
This is written round the checks and figures a working UK inspector uses, not a generic tick-box grid. Tread depth is judged against the 1.6mm legal minimum across the centre three-quarters of the tread and around the full circumference, with a 3mm advisory column for customer work. Brake discs and pads are recorded in mm rather than "OK". There are prompts for headlamp condensation, corroded brake pipes and perished CV boots, and the minor/major/dangerous wording is explained so your report describes a defect the same way a tester would.

The red-flag column covers the things that hide: no warning-light self-test at ignition-on, which can mean codes were recently cleared; silt under the spare wheel well and corroded seat-rail bolts on a flood car; overspray on rubber seals and uneven panel gaps on a repaired shell; mayonnaise under the oil filler cap read alongside a coolant pressure check; a plate that does not match the logbook; and a diesel with a rising regeneration count.
