These basic little socks have a sweet shape, a gently ribbed heal back, and a stretchy ribbed edging that make them fit chubby little legs and feet so well. Perfect to keep baby’s beautiful feet warm. And because they are knit in a round, they have no side or heel seams, making them perfect with baby’s first shoes. The pattern was created by a knitwear designer from Lyon, France.

The pattern will result in socks size 3 months to approximately 9 months. You will need to know how to cast on stitches, knit in a round on double pointed needles, knit stitches, purl stitches, slip stitches, pick up and knit stitches, knit two stitches together, cast off, seam the finished work and knit in ends of the finished work – skill level intermediate/advanced. A pair, for an average skilled knitter, should take approximately six hours to complete.

The yarns I use for my patterns are only suggestions. If you would like to use the same, it can be challenging to find them in various countries (I buy most of my yarns in French shops, picking up random skeins I love as I travel abroad.) You should always start by calling your local shop, then searching online. I frequently find what I need for pieces in specialty online yarn stores or on Ebay. (Also a great place to sell off extra skeins once you've finished a project.)

If you would like to try a different yarn, the best rule of thumb is to compare the weight suggestion and needle size in the pattern to the information provided on the yarn wrapper (or notes online).

I am happy to consider it. However, because I knit for children, I only work with yarns appropriate for them (... not too scratchy, too fuzzy...). I also will no longer work with angora for moral reasons. Preference is given to all-natural, organic, or fair trade yarns.
