DETAILS:
For those of you who need to use more than one smartphone at a time, we have a solution that does not involve duct tape. Our unique design holds both phones together securely in one leather case. If you prefer, you can separate the two halves and use each phone separately.

We use an all leather construction that does not rely on plastic bumpers to hold the phones. The back slot on the right side phone can hold up to three credit cards when detached.

Our case offers great protection to your phone from most normal wear and tear including dropping your phone onto pavement. One of our customers even dropped his phone wallet while working on a cooling tower. It fell from 35 feet onto gravel and both the phone and wallet were fine.

Returns and exchange details

If you decide to cancel your order before we have started working on it, We'll immediately issue a full refund. Once we have started work, however, we may not be able to issue a refund; we will work with you to come to an agreement.

We strive to resolve any order discrepancies as quickly as possible. If we are at fault, we will repair, replace or refund your item at no charge to you and will reimburse your return shipping.

If you are unsatisfied with our product for any other reason, you may return it for a partial refund or store credit within 30 days of delivery. Made-to-order items (most of the products we sell) will be subject to a minimum 30% restocking fee. Customized or personalized items will only be returnable under special circumstances for 50% store credit. Please contact us before returning.

Clearance item sales are final.

Shipping policies

U.S. Shipping:
We ship all items domestically via US Postal Service (USPS) Priority mail (2-3 days) unless other arrangements are made up front. All items are shipped with insurance for the full purchase price and have delivery confirmation, so you'll get a tracking number.

International shipping:
International buyers are responsible for all duties and customs charges that may be incurred. These charges can be significant - often exceeding 25% of the purchase price. Also note that items can be held in customs for long periods of time. Usually items will arrive in Europe, Asia or Australasia in 10 days to 2 weeks, but sometimes it takes much longer. The US Postal Service will not allow an insurance claim to be posted until one month has passed.

Shipping upgrades on will only upgrade the shipping method and will not speed up the crafting time.

Additional policies

Some information about the leather we use:
The exterior leather is the finest quality veg-tanned tooling leather available. It is single shoulder only, ensuring the best grain and most consistent thickness possible. The interior leather is known as English Kip and is a full grain calf leather. As with all full-grain leather, the exterior surface of the leather is the untouched surface of the cow - only the hair has been removed. Most cheaper leathers that are not full-grain have this exterior sanded away and are finished with some synthetic material perfectly free of blemishes and character.

Full grain leather, however, will still carry the small scars and scratches that the animal experiences during its life. We regard these small marks as character marks and they ensure that your leather item is entirely unique. We will avoid any larger scars or scratches that would affect the strength or durability of the product, but smaller marks may be present and they can affect the coloring (see below.)

The back surface of the leather is much like suede - and is not smooth like the front side. We wax and seal the back side which makes it a little bit smoother and it will become naturally smoother with use. Occasional marks from the tannery may be present on the back side of the leather.


A little bit about color:
We do our best to make sure that the color of the product you receive is as close as possible to what you see in the product listings. There are many factors, however, that may lead to a discrepancy.

The most likely factor is the screen in which you are viewing the listing photos. We use a color calibrated monitor and carefully adjust the color of our product photos in Photoshop to match the actual product. We use a Mac standard gamma of 2.2 which is slightly darker than the typical PC standard gamma of 1.8. If you are very particular about color and want to see the product photos as closely as possible to the way we see them, calibrate your monitor and set the gamma to 2.2.

With that said, colors look differently in different lighting conditions. We correct the white balance of the images for the actual lighting conditions when the photo was taken, so the photo should be very neutral. We can't control the lighting under which you view the product once you receive it, however. If you feel there is a discrepancy, please view the product in direct sunlight (or at least under a daylight bulb 5000 to 6000K.)

To further complicate matters, leather, as a natural material, has natural variations. Things like scars or dense patches will not take the dye as readily as other areas. The base color of leather will vary from hide to hide and even within a single hide. This affects the resulting finished color. When the product is finished, we use our best judgement on the color (as we do with the quality of workmanship in general,) and decide if it is up to our standards before we ship it.

Hand and Hide uses the highest quality materials and crafting techniques.

All of our products come with a limited lifetime warranty which covers defects in materials and craftsmanship for the life of the product.

Since leather ages with use, our warranty does not cover changes in the appearance of the leather.
Normal use should keep our products soft and supple. Most of our customers do not use anything to keep their item soft. If your climate is particularly dry, or you feel the need to apply treatment, we recommend using a neutral shoe polish. This may darken the leather somewhat however.
