270 murder-mystery logic-grid cases — all six Armchair Detective volumes in a single PDF. Nobody bleeds, nothing is described, and not one case needs a guess.

WHAT'S IN THE FILE

- 270 cases: six volumes of 45, one after another in one PDF — Murder at the Manor (a great English house), Murder on the Crossing (an ocean liner), Murder at Midwinter (a country house cut off by snow at Christmas), Murder on the Night Express (an overnight sleeper train), Murder at the Grand Hotel (a seaside grand hotel) and Murder at the Playhouse (a provincial theatre on opening night).
- Every case on two pages: the story and the whole clue list, then a full-size grid with lines for notes.
- Three tiers of fifteen in every volume — Warm-Up, Investigation, Cold Case — ordered by how much work the solving takes.
- 4, 5 or 6 suspects; in each volume 27 cases match four things and 18 add a fifth column (Wearing, Ordered, Brought, Ordered, Ordered and Role, volume by volume).
- 4,345 clues in all, in seven forms, from 6 to 32 per case.
- A full solution for every one of the 270 cases — answer table, filled grid, and the reasoning written out in plain English, clue by clue.
- No case is repeated: no two of the 270 share a clue list, and no case title appears twice anywhere in the six volumes.
- A contents page (page 3) and a divider page for every volume, each giving that volume's own page ranges and the pattern for printing a single case.
- Each volume's how-to-solve pages, carried over from its paperback unchanged — how to solve a logic grid, a worked example, how the tiers were measured.

856 PAGES, AND YOU CAN FIND ANYTHING IN IT

Page 3 lists every volume's page ranges; each volume then opens with a divider page repeating them. Volume 1 is pages 5–146 (cases 11–100, solutions 101–146), Volume 2 is 147–288, Volume 3 289–430, Volume 4 431–572, Volume 5 573–714, Volume 6 715–856. The PDF's bookmarks go to every one of the 270 cases and every one of the 270 solutions by name, so your reader's sidebar is a case index.

GRIDS 21% BIGGER THAN THE PAPERBACKS'

Every page is enlarged 21% from the 6 × 9 in paperbacks to fill US Letter. Grid squares measure 4.77 mm to 8.56 mm in this file against 3.93–7.06 mm in the books.

ONE ANSWER, AND NO GUESSING — CHECKED, NOT CLAIMED

Every case had to pass three machine checks before it was printed: exactly one answer (counted, then re-counted by a second independently written counter); reachable by deduction alone, with no guessing (a solver that only uses the steps a person makes on paper had to finish it); and no redundant clue (remove any one and the case stops having a single answer). 356 cases were generated to fill these six volumes and 86 were thrown out — 81 for needing a guess, 5 for a clue list too long to print on one page. Each volume's own copyright page says all this, and it is reproduced word for word on page 2.

PRINTING

US Letter, portrait, single-sided. Print at 100% / "Actual size" with "Fit to page" off. Black ink on white. Nobody prints 856 pages at once — print a volume, a tier or a single case. Two sheets make one case; lay them side by side.

WHAT YOU MAY DO WITH IT

Print it as often as you like for yourself and your own household, and print copies for one group you run yourself — a classroom, a care-home or day-centre activity session, a library or community puzzle club. 270 cases is a year of weekly sessions. You may not resell or give away the file, sell the printed pages, or put the cases into anything you sell. Full licence on page 4.

WHAT THIS IS NOT

- One PDF to print. Not six files, not a zip, not a physical book, not an app.
- Not a murder-mystery party kit.
- Not editable on screen.
- All six volumes are also sold as paperbacks, and each is sold on its own as a printable file. Those are separate purchases.
- Some character names recur between volumes that share a name pool (One and Two, Three and Four, Five and Six). The cases themselves never repeat.

HOW THESE PUZZLES WERE MADE

All 270 cases were generated, solved and checked by a computer program written for this series. The case text — scenes, clue sentences, names, titles — came from the same program's written templates with the help of an AI assistant. Each volume's copyright page discloses this, and page 2 reproduces it.
