Highlights

  • Designed by Lurexen
  • Supplies for making crafts
  • Digital download
  • Digital file type(s): 4 PDF

Paint the quiet beauty of winter birds with a guided course that teaches you how to observe, sketch, mix, and paint—not just copy a finished picture.

The Ultimate Winter Birds Watercolor Workbook by LUREXEN is a 78-page printable learning path. Start with water control, values, bird proportions, feather edges, white plumage, and a flexible winter palette. Then study five distinctive subjects: Northern Cardinal (male and female field marks), Black-capped Chickadee, slate-colored Dark-eyed Junco, nonbreeding Snow Bunting, and American Robin. Finish with five guided winter scenes and your own original painting.

WHAT IS INSIDE
• Foundations in watercolor control, value, shape, anatomy, and winter color.
• Species-specific field-mark notes, palette plans, and staged painting demonstrations.
• Five traceable bird outlines to transfer onto suitable painting paper.
• Separate, generous blank practice areas and five blank guided-project pages.
• Composition, branches, snow, atmosphere, final painting, reflection, and a blank LUREXEN completion certificate.

FILES YOU RECEIVE
Four ordered, 78-page PDFs: full-color A4, full-color US Letter, Light-Color/Ink-Saver A4, and Light-Color/Ink-Saver US Letter. A4 is 210 × 297 mm; US Letter is 8.5 × 11 in. Source page artwork is prepared at approximately 150 DPI. The Light-Color/Ink-Saver editions reduce decorative color but still contain essential illustrations; they are not black-and-white.

HOW TO USE
Download the correct PDF for your paper size. Print at Actual Size / 100%, not Fit to Page. A home printer is fine for reading, tracing, pencil work, and light washes if the paper supports them. For wet watercolor painting, transfer an outline to watercolor paper (around 300 gsm / 140 lb is a useful starting point) or work on a separate sheet beside the guide. Pigments and paper behave differently; test your own materials first.

This is a digital product. No physical workbook or paint supplies will be shipped. The ready-made files are delivered through Etsy after purchase. Files are for the buyer's personal use; do not redistribute, resell, or upload the workbook files elsewhere. Colors can vary slightly between screens and printers. This is an art-learning workbook, not an ornithology certification or a substitute for a field guide.

AI DISCLOSURE
Original workbook planning, instructional copy, page design, and quality review were directed and assembled for LUREXEN with AI-assisted illustration and production tools. Some bird and decorative artwork was generated with AI and then integrated into the original educational design.
