This vintage real photo postcard depicts the Fresco of the Annunciation in the Presidio of La Bahia in Goliad, Texas. Number 6-L-152. It is postally unused, has a divided back, and dates from 1915 to 1930. There is not a name of a publisher or distributor - the area for the postage stamp says Kodak Paper (see second photo).

This Annunciation fresco by Antonio Garcia is behind the altar at Our Lady of Loreto Chapel, in the Presidio La Bahia, a fort near Mission Espiritu Santo, near Goliad, Texas, USA

The Presidio La Bahia (Fort of the Bay) in Goliad, TX is the site of the bloodiest chapter in the Texas Revolt from Mexico in 1836. Originally built in 1749 to protect the mission and the frontier, it later played a major role in the Texas Revolution. Here, Colonel Fannin and his ill-fated men were held prior to being executed at Santa Anna's order, an act of infamy later recalled at the Battle of San Jacinto with the cry, "Remember Goliad! Remember the Alamo!"

Measurements: 3.5" x 5.5".

Condition: Very light wear on the corners and edges. Some toning due to age, Otherwise, in very, very good condition.
