🌙 HOW IT WORKS AT HOME

Follow two lessons a week for five weeks, try lessons 1–3 as a three-session sampler, or choose a single lesson for an afternoon. Most lessons start with 25–40 minutes together. Making projects and return visits can happen on another day.

Children can read, draw, dictate, write, or speak. Writing is never required. It is a secular guide written mainly for ages 6–12, and every lesson has an easier entry point and an older-learner extension, so siblings can work together.

The science notes were checked against NASA, NOAA, the US Forest Service, the National Park Service, NC State Extension, and the Missouri Department of Conservation. The examples focus on temperate Northern Hemisphere autumn, with notes on adapting them to where you live.

🧺 SUPPLIES

Pencils, colored pencils or crayons, scrap paper, a clipboard or firm book, scissors, tape or glue, and a few fallen natural objects where collecting is allowed. Watercolors are optional.

Helpful extras: a ruler marked in inches, a magnifier, a timer, six cups, and local sunrise/sunset times. Lesson 5 can also use a flashlight, a ball, and two stickers. You do not need a craft kit.
