A deep blue dusk over a still lake and dark hills, XJ220 in big outlined letters across the top and a wet road full of reflected sunset give the artwork presence across a room. The blue XJ220, low and seen from its front corner, invites a closer look. Above a desk or in a garage lounge, it's a conversation piece for anyone who knows what that name means.

The subject is a 1994 XJ220 in Le Mans Blue over a Smoke Grey interior, a left-hand-drive car. The XJ220 has a 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 making 550 PS at 7,200 rpm, rear-wheel drive, a five-speed manual gearbox and an aluminium body drawn by Keith Helfet, and it was built from 1992 to 1994.

Every car was a drawing before it was a car. We start with the finished car and draw it back to that first decision, until the proportion is honest and the stance is right and you would know it from across the room without a badge.
