The first quilt pictured was made for my aunt using her favorite family photos, I made two of these quilts so she always had one available when her special "blanket" was being washed in the assisted living facility. The next quilt pictured was my very first quilt. I added photos and more "Fidget" material when I saw how much she liked it. She loved talking about the photos and I especially liked that people would talk to her in the care facility she was living in. And, yes, the quilts are washable, even in a care facility.

Custom photograph collages facilitate conversation about the remembering photos and named people, stimulating the memory and enhancing its effectiveness with a friend or caregiver, even when family members are not present.


Choose a color combination preference, I will work with you on fabric color choices.
Choose the Number of Photo Fabric Panels you would like: 5, 6. 8, 9, or 10. You may use up to 8 photos for each fabric collage.

Quilts are made using 100% quality cotton fabrics, Warm & Natural batting, Quilter’s flannel backing so it does not slide off the lap, and 100% cotton EQ fabric sheets with permanent ink. Quilts are washable.

In addition to the photos, it may be advantageous to incorporate within the non-photo area the therapeutic aspects of a "fidget quilt." A fidget quilt is particularly useful for Alzheimer's patients who exhibit greater nervous tension in their hands. The quilt can be adorned with a variety of buttons and textured cotton chenille and faux fur fabric to provide hours of tactile sensory stimulation while adding the natural comfort that comes from a good quality flannel backing.

(Q) What pictures would you or your loved one enjoy on their Remembering Quilt?

1) Bring important experiences & events from their past into the present. Pictures of a person younger and older, of special people in their lives, friends, family, colleagues, other loved ones, pets, hobbies, boats, cars, houses, places, etc.

2) I will guide you through the process of placing photos in collages and choosing your favorite fabric. Look at the sample quilts, pillows & collages on my website: www.RememberingQuilts.com for ideas.

3) Each 8.5” x 11” Photo Collage Fabric Panel may contain up to 8 pictures with your choice of text.

4) Include wedding pictures, diplomas, certificates, military memorabilia amongst other treasured items.

5) Tell a story by labeling any photo with individual names or events.

6) Incorporate therapeutic aspects of a "fidget quilt", useful to those suffering from TBI or Alzheimer's who exhibit greater nervous tension in their hands. Quilt can be adorned with a variety of buttons and textured fabric to provide hours of tactile sensory stimulation.

(Q) How should you send the photos to me?

1) Photos can be emailed in JPG format
2) Photos can be downloaded from Facebook, Shutterfly, etc.
3) Photos can be mailed. Place the photographs in envelopes taking care to protect them.
Write "DO NOT BEND, Photographs Inside" on the outside of the shipping container.
It is always best to use a reputable carrier that can track their shipments, such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, and/or USPS Certified Mail. That will enable you to keep track of where your photos are at any given time.
I am not responsible for lost or stolen photographs enroute to or from my workroom, it is best if you send a copy of each photo, not the original photo.
