Christmas Menu Planner Spreadsheet Excel & Google Sheets, Holiday Dinner Planner with Shopping List Calculated by Guest Count

Plan every holiday meal and let the spreadsheet do the shopping maths. Enter the guests for each meal, the dishes and the quantity per person of every ingredient: the file works out how much you need, how much to buy (bottles, packs and pieces rounded up to whole units) and what each meal costs, in total and per person.

WHAT YOU GET

WHAT IT CALCULATES
✔ 5 meals with dates calculated from the year: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day (rename them if you like, e.g. Thanksgiving)
✔ Guests per meal and, for every ingredient, quantity per person, unit (lb, kg, g, l, bottles, packs, pieces…), quantity needed and quantity to buy rounded up
✔ Estimated cost per meal and per person, from the prices you enter
✔ Prices-missing counter: while a price is empty the meal cost is marked incomplete, so you know the estimate is not final yet
✔ «Bought?» column to tick off the shopping; up to 200 ingredient rows

HOW IT WORKS
1. Settings: the year (meal dates update automatically)
2. Top table: guests per meal
3. Shopping list: one row per ingredient with quantity per person, unit and price

• Meal costs are an estimate based on the prices you type in
• Reusable every year: change the year and the meal dates update
• Formulas tested by full recalculation in Excel for Microsoft 365; calculations also checked in Google Sheets. No macros.
