New Homeowner Binder, New Home Checklist, Google Sheets Excel Spreadsheet, Printable Home Binder, Home Inventory, First Home Gift

Our New Homeowner Binder is the one place for everything about your home: the facts about the house, who to call, every account, where the important papers are, and a plan for your first 90 days.

We built it for the week after closing, when the keys are new and the paperwork is everywhere. Fill in what you know, and the Dashboard keeps track of what is done, which warranties end soon and what the home costs each month.

What you can do with it

- Record the facts about your home, from year built to filter sizes (25 details)
- Keep key contacts and service providers in one list (18 starter roles)
- Track utilities and household accounts with typical monthly costs
- Log paint colors, codes and finishes room by room
- Register appliances with model and serial numbers; warranty end dates and status calculate for you
- Index your home documents (20 starter documents) and note where each is kept
- Summarize your closing and mortgage, with a monthly housing cost estimate
- Work through a 34-task checklist for your first week, 30 and 90 days
- Locate and label 10 emergency shutoffs and systems, and sketch them on a floor plan page
- Start a home inventory for insurance, and plan first-year costs
- Works in Excel or free in Google Sheets. No macros.

A note on safety: the shutoffs pages are for locating and labeling only. Gas, electrical, roof and in-wall plumbing work is for a licensed or qualified pro.
