Description

A pochoir print, circa late 1920s, by the French artist & designer Madame Raisin. This print is from the folio titled "Le Decor Moderne Dans La Tenture Et Le Tissu," which translates roughly to "Modern Decor In The Tapestry And Fabric."

The pochoir illustrated is plate 17 from the folio and is a stylized floral in three shades of orange (light orange, medium orange, and a deeper red orange), as well as a cool gray and a metallic gold ink, all on a warm gray/taupe background. The caption directly under the image itself translates to "Wallpaper, composition of Madame Raisin." The sheet is 8.75" wide by 12.75" high and the image area is 6.25" wide by nearly 9" high. There are some small areas of spotting/staining scattered across the surface of the sheet, including some tiny specks in the image area. Nothing that detracts noticeably, but mentioned for the sake of accuracy.

The print is in good condition with damage to three of the four corners that would be easily masked when the print is matted. It's a beautiful and striking composition made even more interesting by the addition of the metallic pigment. Imagine a room with walls covered in this pattern!

Processing time for this item will be brief; I like to get my orders shipped within 48 hours, typically using Priority Shipping via the USPS.

Also, please note that I DO NOT currently ship outside the United States.
