Item details

3mm baltic birch plywood, acrylic, nylon, Shellac

This is the NerdBox - Vertical Edition! It's the perfect storage and organization solution for your TCG, DBG, or any other game that involves a metric ton of cards.

It is ALSO the foundation for a modular, customizable, and infinitely expandable storage solution!
See other versions of the NerdBox available:
• Original NerdBox (horizontal cards, hinged lid):
• Sliding top version:
• Dominion Bundle:
• DiceMasters Bundle:

Features include:

• Multiple NerdBoxes stack neatly and securely one on top of another
• Precisely long enough to store one or more standard size 14" tall play mats in either lane
• Can store roughly 2500 un-sleeved cards (maybe 1400 sleeved). Each card lane is 14" in length
• Small feet and end cutouts make it easier to pick up your box full of heavy cards
• Will nicely fit American or Euro sized card games, sleeved or unsleeved
• Circle cutouts at the ends facilitate getting your finger behind the cards at the ends
• Removable lids
• Flexible nylon latches to hold the lids shut
• Acrylic or plywood card dividers (5 included) with optional etched text or images
• Any or every wooden and acrylic surface can be etched for full customization and personalization
• Can be stained, shellacked, or otherwise finished

Note: Not compatible with my dice organizers and dice tower. To organize you Star Wars: Destiny, Dice Masters, or Quarriors collections, you'll want the original NerdBox with horizontal card storage.

I'm a fan of deck building games myself. Particularly Dominion and Legendary. I've designed this box for my own use, and I've used and lived with the various prototypes for months. Therefore I learned the hidden weaknesses of my earlier designs and headed back to the drawing board each time. Now I'm finally ready to share the NerdBox with you.

Do you play Dominion or Legendary? Then this box is most definitely for you. Do you play Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, or Pokemon? This box is for you, too. Cards Against Humanity? I'll even make a box for you, you horrible, horrible person ;-)

These boxes are begging for customization. Got some art or text you want engraved? Let's do it! Message me and we can work out the details!

• Exterior dimensions are 14-1/2" x 9-7/8" x 5-1/8"
• Precision laser cut from 3mm Baltic Birch plywood (much of the box is actually 2-ply thick)
• Portions of the product can be cut from acrylic instead of plywood. Usually the center lanes
• Optional latches are 3D printed from PCTPE nylon
• Price listed is for the plain box, fully assembled. Options are extra. (Still getting my Etsy site set up.)

I've designed and forged the NerdBox in Greensboro, NC at The Forge makerspace with a laser cutter/engraver. Thanks for supporting American small business!

Very good solution for sleeved Dominion cards with printed dividers. I fit 6 large expansions and 1 small expansion in 1 box (while storing core cards, mats, and tokens in a separate box).
