Description

Wild Thyme from Greece – the best you ever tasted!

This herb not only refines our dishes but it also presents antiseptic and anti-fungal properties because it contains flavonoids, antioxidants, minerals, vitamins, potassium, iron, calcium, manganese, magnesium, selenium, beta-carotene, folic acid, vitamin C and much more.

The presence of that many blossoms in our thyme makes its flavor in such a way intense that it can be used even years after harvesting. Use thyme for cooking, for example for Café de Paris sauce, chicken with mustard and lemon sauce, sprinkled over baked potatoes, ground towards the end in a tomato sauce, on the pizza, in herb butter and more. That Greek thyme gives a kick to your menu and fulfill the whole house with an amazing savoury smell.

Thyme contains essential oils and can be prepared as tea. It is traditionally used (as tea and gargling) for cough, sore throat, bronchitis symptoms, anti-septic mouthwash in the treatment of caries and gingivitis.

We collect this wild Greek thyme with the bushy, violet flowers on the Taygetos Mountain on the Peloponnese. Then we hang it up for drying and store it afterwards in cotton bags on a dark and dry place. Only on receipt of your order we freshly rub and package it, using eco-friendly recyclable PP bags.

In contrast to the wild Greek mountain tea, wild thyme is not threatened with extinction.

If you don’t use thyme it’s time to surprise your dears with a new tasteful experience!
