Description

This is a listing for a custom piece to be made similar to the one in the pictures (to your specifications!), but NOT for the actual one in these pictures (that one is my personal Dominion-carrying baby, because I love that game so so much). Due to natural variations in leather, the final piece you receive is one-of-a-kind and artfully carries your card game, similar to this but not exactly the same.

Each pocket in this book has been thoroughly tested to hold 10-16 unsleeved American Dominion cards without them falling out by turning the pages or significantly shifting while the case is completely closed. I am happy to do additional testing to create a version that will hold sleeved cards, or a different number of cards, or a different type of card game.

This listing price is for this current set-up, which has 276 pockets for different sets of 10-16 cards (same size as unsleeved American Dominion cards), a pocket for rule books, a long hard leather case for cards of larger sets, and a pocket on the outside for mats and tokens. This set-up holds all of the Dominion games through the Empires expansion. If you wish to make something similar for a different game, or want a different number of pockets, or have any other changes you are thinking of, I love doing new custom work. I am happy to work with you to realize your dreams for your unique leather and fabric card game case. Please contact me, and we will discuss your vision and I will make a custom listing with the custom price for that particular vision.

Now let’s walk through each picture so you know what you’re looking at!

Picture 1: This shows the outside of the case, including one way you can carry it, with the handle firmly sewn into the binding of the book. The two buttons on the outside open a pocket. The second picture here shows what it looks like when it is first opened – the top page of the card book and the long case for non-Kingdom cards.

Picture 2: This shows how the book works. There are 12 pockets sewn on each page. Pages come in sets of 4 (all of one piece), which are securely sewn into the leather binding using medieval book-binding techniques. Near the end of the book is a full-page pocket that all of the rules can fit in.

Picture 3: Top left: the outside pocket, which can hold mats and baggies of coins and other tokens. Bottom left: The strap sewn into the top of the book for ease in carrying. Right: Inside the long leather case, which holds non-Kingdom cards. The white inserts are white hard cardstock – I’m happy to provide some simple cardstock rectangles for you to label as you please for your game.

Picture 4: Here are some pictures of me putting the case back together. Top left: First, I button close the long leather card case and close the book. Right: Then I fold together the leather pieces that go over the top and bottom of the book pages, and tie them tight. Bottom left: Then I flip close the remaining two sides, strap it together with the belts, and button close the outside pocket.

Picture 5: The case has an adjustable carrying strap made from sturdy belts.

I personally choose each piece of leather individually to create the aesthetic and function of the final piece. I very precisely cut and sew the fabric with my sewing machine. The pages are sewn to the leather by hand, and all of the leatherwork is stitched by hand. You are directly supporting an independent Michigan artist with this purchase, and I thank you very much! As this is custom made to your specifications and it involves a lot of labor, please allow 2 months for me to source materials and finish making this item on top of my other work. If I have a lot of orders, I will contact you to let you know your estimated shipping time, as it would then be longer than 2 months until I could fulfill this order.
