Vintage 50s 1950s knitting / sewing / embroidery magazine - original patterns

Needlewoman and Needlecraft No 67 (July 1956)
A needlecraft / knitting magazine published in the UK

32 pages (including cover) - approx. 7" x 9. 1/2" - cover and a small number of internal pages in colour, the remainder in black and white

Includes full instructions for three ladies' short-sleeved summer sweaters - two crocheted and one knitted. Also instructions for a raffia lampshade

In addition, there are several inspirational needlecraft projects - primarily embroidered floral designs (for use on cushions, cloths etc). There is an embroidered motif for use on a lady's dress as well as instructions for a beach bag with a maritime theme (both featured here - though, please note, transfers not included)

Please note that most of the sewing/embroidery projects require transfers or charts that were not included with the magazine and had to be purchased separately. However, it should be possible for the experienced needleworker to replicate some - if not most - of these designs without the transfers (for instance the 'regatta' bag instructions include close-up photographs which could be easily traced/photocopied and used to make your own transfer, if necessary)

If you require any further information re. the contents of this magazine (e.g. sizings or gauge/tension for the knitted or crocheted garments), please feel free to ask.

Please note that this is a UK magazine and that adjustments may need to be made by international crocheters (e.g. abbreviations)

This magazine is in very good condition - it doesn't look as though it has been handled a great deal - just some moderate age discolouration and gentle creasing/rubbing to spine etc. There is also an unobtrusive embossed shop stamp to the front cover. No stains, tears or inscriptions
