Description

Handmade crackle stoneware cremation urn.

Airmid - WATCH VIDEO - https://youtu.be/T3AQf3ML6VU

"Healing goddess of regeneration"

Handmade white, crackle stoneware cremation urn.

The legend of Goodess Airmid of the Tuatha Dé Danann, is the story of a gentle and compassionated soul. Airmid was terribly pained by the death of her beloved brother, Miach, who was killed by the hands of their own father. Upon seeing his dead body and feeling over come with betrayal, she wrapped Miach in her arms and covered him in tears. As she cried her pure love and compassion transformed into a river of flowing tears that washed away their souls, carrying them both into the safe world of the spirits.

Urn size - 200 cubic inches

Product Ref No:LG/7

A white crackle is displayed on this ceramic urn which has been hand thrown and Raku glazed. Smooth white contrasts the smoked, rough black. Standing beautifully refined after its process of creation. Its shape was formed by hand from a lump of earth. The form then continued its journey enduring glowing red heat followed by confinement to a small chamber where the oxygen was burnt up turning the unglazed areas black.
