Description

Hand turned from Cornish grown Pine.

I source all of my materials myself from fallen trees, and often donated by friends. I process the wood from the ground to finished product, often turning wood green to give a more natural form once dried as with these bowls.

This Pine bowl is made from some of a very large Pine tree that recently had some dangerous limbs removed and I was lucky enough to get hold of a few large logs.

This bowl number 4 of a series made from the same tree. See my other shop items for more bowls from the series or visit my website for more details about the whole process of the series from start to finish.

Finished with pure Tung oil.

Dimensions (approx)

Diameter - 130mm
Depth Internal - 50mm
Depth External - 65mm

Laser engraved on base with the series name and number of the bowl.

Please note that these bowls have been turned green and due to varying climatic conditions when you receive them you may find they warp or change shape very slightly over the first few weeks as they stabilise.

This particular bowl has a large pice of the original bark still attached (see the darker patch on the photos) it has been sanded and oiled and after several weeks seems to be stable, however please bear this in mind when using and cleaning/polishing and potentially if subjected to dramatic variations in humidity.

While they have been finished with pure tung oil and a coat of wax polish prior to shipping, being a naturally finished natural material as with all wooden furniture it would benefit from a polish from time to time.

Please do not hesitate in contacting me should you have and concerns/problems and I will be happy to help.
