This is a Coach bag you don't often see in the vintage marketplace. It's a Scout Bag and it typifies the early American explorer style you see in many of the Coach classics. This bag has preorderly creed registration number 906-5138.

This bag is a good size for every day uses. In addition to its main compartment it has full length pockets on the front under the flap and on the back. It also has a zippered pocket inside the main compartment. This bag was listed in the Coach Fall 1991 Catalog. This is what Coach had to say about this bag back then:

B. Scout Bag. No. 9890 $204 Spring lock closure. Full-length outside back pocket. Full-length inside front pocket under flap. Inside zipper pocket. 44" adjustable shoulder strap. 9"x 9 1/2" x 3 1/4". Black, British Tan, Forest Green, Mahogany, Navy, Tabac. Pictured in British Tan. (See photo 5- collage)

The style of the Scout Bag is the same as the Stanton Brief and the two would go together well. Currently we have a Stanton Brief that would go very well with this Scout Bag. https://www.etsy.com/listing/386936436/independence-days-sale-coach-stanton?ga_search_query=stanton&ref=shop_items_search_1

This bag is in a highly distressed condition but it wears it well. In fact I think the the distress adds to the appeal of this bag because of its early American explorer style. It has no holes, tears or holes in the bag. However, there several spots on the beading where the leather is so worn that it has split apart leaving the second layer of beading exposed. However, these splits do not compromise the structural integrity of the bag There are plenty of scuffs and scratches and the bottom has several white scuff marks. Please see photos and ask for more if you need them. This bag has been conditioned with Leather CPR.

Please visit our shop and check out the other bags available. We have plenty of Coach products, including some rare NYC Coach bags from the 1970's. We also have briefcases, attache's and messenger bags manufactured by Hartmann, Fossil, Cole Hahn, Goldpfeil, and other well known manufacturers.
