Description

Cool minty greens. A tattersall design in sage green and teal with pinstripes in a dark emerald green. Merino / silk blend.

=====
My marled merino scarf is my signature design. Woven of Australian Merino Wool (and/or Merino/Silk blend), they are warm, soft, and bulky to keep you cozy in the winter. Each is unique: from subtle to bold in solids, banded, stripes, and plaids. The marled appearance is achieved by threading and weaving three (un-plied) threads at a time. This process affords me the opportunity to offer this fine handwoven muffler at a modest price. Dimensions are approximately 10" x 66" + a 4" hand twisted fringe. Weight 7-8 oz. Handwash or dryclean.

A word about handwoven fabrics...

Handwoven fabrics are never as tightly woven as machine made cloth. You may notice over time that a thread pulls loose. This will happen at color changes (most prevalent on plaids) and within a solid color area where the bobbin runs out of thread and another bobbin is started. UNLIKE A KNIT GARMENT, A WOVEN GARMENT WILL NOT UNRAVEL. If you ignore the thread, it will eventually “matt” onto the fabric surface and become less noticeable.If you find it unsightly, you can carefully cut it off close to the fabric surface but with the risk of it loosening again.

If you are skilled with a crochet hook, you could also try to bury the end back into the fabric structure. I've noticed that women will occasionally snag a thread on their earring post. I've also had good luck repairing this kind of damage with a crochet hook.
