Welcome to Simply Salvage! We've been making custom cornices for clients on Etsy since 2011. We're happy you are considering our shop for your window needs!
Dress up any windows in your home with a custom cornice in designer fabric to accent your room decor. Our custom cornices are constructed with a wood backing and a layer of extra loft batting which keeps cornices crisp and new looking for years to come. Cornices are a great way to bring height to your room by drawing your eye upwards and to the ceiling. Our cornices are easy to mount, and always come with instructions and the necessary hardware. You'll need a pencil and a power screwdriver to install them once they arrive.
When you are ready to chat more about your project please send me a message with the following information and I'll be happy to work you up a custom quote. Chatting before you purchase allows me to review your project specifications and fabric selection to allow the best finished product, and of course it gives me the opportunity to answer any questions you might have.
Information Needed to Quote your Project:
1. fabric selection - Our cornice prices include fabric at around $10 a yard from fabric.com - but that doesn't mean that's your only option. You're welcome to provide your own fabric from a local to you source, buy it from another retailer online. Need help finding the right fabric for your space? Not a problem - I'm happy to point you towards the most popular brands and fabrics to help you with your selection.
2. cornice size - width x height x depth
~Width - measure your window side to side, including the casing or trim if you have any. Add 4" to this dimension to allow 2" of overhang on each side.
~Height - 10" or 12" are our most popular and standard heights, but you're welcome to choose any height you like
~Depth - 3" for recessed blinds or shades or 4" with a low profile rod for curtains.
3. zip code where the project will be shipping.
4. Any special considerations you might have, or a photo of your windows. Some creative things we've engineered around include:
~cornices that mount between cabinets
~cornices that are inset in a "nook" or dormer window
~windows that are right against a room corner
~no wall space above the window to mount your cornice
So you can get an idea of what your project will cost - please see the pricing scale below. Since there are so many variables in a custom project, certain details might change the pricing slightly. All pricing assumes a half yard of fabric for the 24" - 39" cornice and one yard of fabric for the longer cornices.
Cornice Pricing
~24" - 39" - $120
~40" - 49" - $130
~50" - 59" - $145
~60" - 69" - $155
~70" - 79" - $170
~80" - 89" - $180
~90" - 96" - $195
