A rare pale lavender / violet colored ironstone transferware wall-plate by French manufacturer, Grigny. The centre of this antique plate depicts a scene with hunters and rabbits and the title, 'contre la force pas de reistance' which translates as, 'strength against no resistance'; around the outside of the plate is adorned with floral and bird illustrations - a really beautiful and very old plate! Circa. late 19th/early 20th century.
Condition: good used antique with super age-related wear such as crazing, staining and minor scratches - there is one hair underneath and out of sight (photo 5), however, there are no chips or cracks.
