One of my favorite combinations in the woodworking world is walnut and cherry. So I decided to combine the two in a project that I had made many times, a mug. I had enough to make 3 mugs all built to the same dimensions and volume. They stand 6 1/2" tall and filled to the brim they hold an even 20 oz. All 3 made from cherry and walnut with a solid walnut bottom and handle. I lined the mugs with a layer of epoxy so they will all hold water or whatever gets put in them. The outside was finished with boiled linseed oil and then polished using a shop made blend of beeswax and boiled linseed oil.

** I would not recommend that these mugs be used for hot liquids, get put in the microwave or be put in the dishwasher.**
