Description

Fused glass, bridge style, candle / tea light holder.

Made from clear glass with blue streaks in it, onto which tiny pieces of yellow and blue glass were added to give it a speckled effect. This was fused in my kiln for several hours. It was then placed over a mould to shape it and fired in the kiln again. The end result is this lovely one of a kind decorative item.

It measures approximately 185mm long, 116mm wide and 35mm high.

It is not recommended that this item be put in a dishwasher.

WHAT IS "FUSED GLASS"?
Pieces of glass are placed in a kiln and heated to a temperate usually between 640 and 800 degrees celsius. The glass has to be heated and cooled slowly and precisely to prevent it from cracking. It can take up to 12 hours for a basic kiln firing. By varying the top temperature and the time the glass is heated for, different effects can be achieved.
The glass I use is art glass especially designed for glass fusing.
