Risdon Manufacturing Company of Danbury, CT took over the Plume & Atwood Waterbury plant in the late 1950s. The entire Fabricating Division of P&A was sold to Landers, Frary & Clark in New Britain, Connecticut, who manufactured housewares. Landers, Frary & Clark was subsequently purchased by the J.B. Williams Company of New York, which was then quickly acquired by the General Electric Company Housewares Division in 1965. The Risdon Division, as a wholly owned subsidiary continued to produce P&A burners, including the standard Eagle, and venerable P & A 00 Acorn burners, supplied on Finger lamps, Miniatures made by Fenton Art Glass, and boudoir bed table lamps, right up through the 1970s.
