vera wang : stunning early Vera Wang silk chapel length train wedding ballgown

High quality couture bateau neck gown is a beautiful example of Vera Wang's architectural structured style. The result? Classic simple elegant lines.
Sleeveless fitted bodice. Slightly fuller than A-Line skirt. Slightly asymmetrical back.
Gown has inner skirt lining and 3 layers of crinoline.

The chapel length train can be bustled for the reception with the use of hidden ties underneath the skirt.

This is the same gown worn by Al Gore's daughter, Karenna Gore at her wedding in Washington D.C.
The press described her dress on that day as "stunning, simple, elegant and understated".

(side metal zipper works fine - dress is slightly too small for my mannequin)

Substantial 100% ivory/bone silk.

Retailed for $3500 in 2001.

So why the low low price for a Vera Wang Gown?
Yes, there is a catch:

There is no Wang label - if labels are important to you please do not purchase. Apparently the story is : the label was removed by a less than reputable dress dealer (who then sewed it on another dress). As soon as you feel and see the quality of this dress, you will realize as I did, that this is indeed a Vera Wang dress.

It does need to be dry cleaned. (see condition below)

Color: bone/ivory

Fabric: Silk shell. Rayon Lining.

Designer: Vera Wang (no label)

Condition : Good Vintage condition. It does need to be dry-cleaned. A tiny mark (make-up?)on skirt. Dirt on hem - mainly on the inside of the hem. Very slight yellowing under one arm.
All should be removable with a good dry cleaning.
No rips or tears.

Size: Small- Labeled as a size 4 (please check measurements below)

Waist - 27-28"
Hip - Free
Width from shoulder to shoulder - 11.5"

I have *many many* more pictures of this dress...

Please ask any and all questions before purchasing.

I cannot accept returns on vintage dresses.
Please understand that you are buying a non-returnable vintage item. It may be decades old. It may require cleaning, pressing and/or alteration.

**A Note About My Dresses**

My Wedding and other Formal dresses are vintage - usually 1950s/1960s.
They are lovingly cleaned/repaired and sometimes embellished by me.
Sometimes they are sold "as-is".

They are described as fully as I can but please be aware - they are *vintage*. If you desire a shiny white gown you need to go to David's Bridal not my little shop.
However, if you are searching for a unique, retro dress for your vintage style wedding....you may have found the place!

Vintage sizes are alot smaller than present day sizes...please refer to my actual measurements listed rather than the tag on the dress (if it has a tag)

I usually take a ton of pictures of my dresses/lingerie items : if you are seriously interested in a clothing item, please convo me and I'll forward you many more pictures than the 5 that etsy allows.

Any flaws will be described as accurately as possible so that you can make an educated decision on your purchase.
