Description

Three elm leaves cut from three different discarded beer bottles from Belgium...Hoegaarden White (wheat beer) cut from the bottom (whopping 3/16" thick) with embossed lettering...Leffe Blonde (abbey beer) cut from the neck (so skinny, eh? 1/32")...Tripel Karmeliet (golden 1679 Carmelite recipe) cut near the bottom (1/8" thick). The germ of the idea was wrangled from the cranium of a former university film student turned bartender at the funky cool establishment in Dinkytown (U of M campus) known as The Kitty Cat Klub.

The elm leaves are inspired by an original Minneapolis elm tree kitty-corner from my house on the SE corner of 23rd Ave. S. and 40th St. Kitty Cat Klub and kitty-corner? coincidence? I don't think so...

The leaves are about 2", 2 1/4" and 2 1/2" long and the swirling mobile takes up about a 5"x 5" swath as it twirls. Autumn Daze!

To Recap: Danse Kalinda Ba Doom...whoops...I meant...Tripel Elm Leaf Branch is triple cool, Recycled Belgian Glass Bottles are all the rage, Three Elm Leaf Mobile is a contemplative art piece, Eco Friendly Gift for someone special...maybe you?

I enjoy a natural patina as metals begin to oxidize in the scheme of things...silver solder lines and copper rods for leaf stems develop a lovely patina over time. In light, the pieces will present a dark solder line (I don't apply acid to the metals unless requested) and copper stems will appear dark with natural light. At night, the ambient light from indoors will give a different view, reflecting off the various metals.

Here's a link...if after reading my philosophy on copper and silver versus uniform black lines, you decide you still want the nitric acid patina... https://www.etsy.com/listing/561151716/black-patina-add-on-finish-art-piece

Gorgeous. Craftmanship outstanding. Leaf moves gently inside, below a ceiling fan, as if it were outside in a lovely breeze.

Shipping policies

USPS Priority and Priority International--sure it's more expensive, but your stuff isn't rattling around with seventy pound dumb-bell sets and concrete slabs!

Korrvu packaging cartons are uncannily cool--your glass piece is actually suspended between film in the center of the carton! For smaller sun catchers, I may use foam wrap, inside a bubble wrap mailer, inside a corrugated carton.

First Class Mail International and Parcel Post is another option if you're not in a hurry and trust the Korrvu packaging carton (they're pretty indestructible)--in most cases, shipping costs would drop dramatically from Priority and Priority International. Send me a convo with what you're looking at, and I can figure out the USPS cost before you buy.

Odds n Ends regarding International Orders...

If you desire insurance, please indicate in "Message to Seller" upon purchase and continue payment. You will receive an invoice with the remaining balance.

Additionally...

I do not refund for packages lost/unclaimed/undeliverable.
I am not responsible for taxes and duties that may incur. All international orders are marked "Merchandise" and will not be marked as "Gift" as this is illegal for my business.

Please check your customs policies to ensure safe delivery.

I especially enjoy wranglin' a raw concept from yer lumpy, side-stepped into my slightly...fer something totally different. Did someone say esoteric?
