About Ghurka:

The name Ghurka was taken from the Ghurka soldiers of the Himalayas who since the days of the British Raj, according to the Ghurka website, have been known throughout the world for their bravery, loyalty, and cheerful indifference to all difficulty. The Company founder, Marley Hodgson, came up with the idea of starting a company creating handmade leather bags and naming it Ghurka after attending an antiquities auction in the 1970's and bidding on gear made for Ghurka regimental officers stationed in India in the early 1900's. According to the Ghurka website, Marley Hodgson was Inspired by the rugged elegance and workmanship of the 75-year-old leather and created the Ghurka leather company to make similar bags. http://www.ghurka.com/our-heritage/about-ghurka

The bag is adorable and just the right size. The quality of the old Coach bags is apparent here and it's in mint vintage condition. The shop owner seems like a very responsive person.

This item was shipped off extremely quickly and arrived fairly quickly, even though it had to go through customs. The bag itself was described correctly in terms of condition, the only critique I might have is that perhaps a better resolution image might be more helpful, I wondered if the photo quality was just an etsy issue but I think it might be camera related. That being said, I struggled to find this particular bag anywhere else and I'm very happy to have it. Thanks very much!

GUARANTEED AUTHENTIC OR ALL MONEY BACK. We understand there are counterfeits and knockoffs of vintage products by well known manufacturers for sale all over the internet and in other market places. One procedure we use is to research authenticity through vintage manufacturer catalogs and to report our research in the listing. Sometimes we include a snippet from the catalog to corroborate our research and educate you about the history of the bag. The purpose of reporting what the manufacturer says about its product in the catalog is to verify our research on the authenticity and to educate you about how a vintage product was portrayed in the past. It is not intended to hold our shop out as a representative of the manufacturer. However, if it turns out we are wrong or our research is not correct we guarantee that if we sell you a product represented to be manufactured by a reputable company like Coach, Cole Haan, Ghurka, Filson, Christian Dior, Hartmann, Gucci, or any other company and you have competent evidence that the product is not authentic we will refund your purchase price and delivery cost.
