Description

This handmade scarf features a linear deco design in shades of green, olive and tan. Size is approximately 65cm x 2.5cm (25.5" x 1"). The fabric in this scarf comes from a roll of unused kimono silk. Pattern placement may vary to that in the photos. Although I have tried to describe the fabrics accurately, colours may vary between different computer monitors.

The fabrics I use come from either reclaimed silk kimonos or unused rolls of kimono silk (all fabric is laundered prior to sewing). They span in age from mid to late 20th century and are unique. Because of the age of the fabric (particularly if they are from a reclaimed kimono), you may find some light stains, small/errant dye marks or pin holes where the fabric has been pinned up on display.

CLEANING (Fabric With No Gold or Silver Metallic Highlights)
Can be handwashed (as described below) or dry cleaned (but do so very sparingly). Do not wear with heavy moisturiser or sunscreen on your neck, it will transfer to the fabric and stain permanently.

CLEANING (Fabric with Gold or Silver Metallic Highlights)
WARNING: Dry cleaning will remove all the metallic highlights. Very quick hand washing is recommended with a good quality wool wash/detergent in cool water (some colour may transfer to the water). Do not rub or wring. Dry immediately by rolling the scarf up in a towel and pressing very gently to remove excess water. Dry flat in shade. Press (don’t iron) with a steam iron (on silk setting) with a pressing cloth.

PLEASE NOTE: I live in a regional area of Australia and during severe weather events we can be without communications and power for up to a week.
