Description

Thomas Hardy was born in this quaint country cottage, now a National Trust property, in Dorset, in 1840.
It was here, in his small upstairs bedroom, that he wrote one of his best-loved novels, Far from the Madding Crowd. His mother is in the garden and if you look closely you can see Bathsheba and Troy up on the heath, enacting a famous scene from the book.

This is a professionally printed card measuring 12.5 x 17.5 cms folded, blank inside for your message. The decorative reverse carries a text about the house. It comes with a brown kraft envelope in a cellophane sleeve.

The card is reproduced from my original cut paper collage, created using snippets from old magazines and flyers and is one in a series of Writers' Houses which you can see in my Etsy shop in card and print form.
