Description

This listing is for a 39 page tutorial to make this "Fall Flame" Beadwoven Leaf, Bail, and Rope. It is not a listing for the necklace. There is a separate listing for a kit with all the supplies needed to make this necklace, in the "Aflame" colorway, and a kit for "Psychedelic Scarab" is coming very soon.

Fall Flame necklace was inspired by the beauty of Maple leaves as they float to the ground, with their gently curling edges. The leaf curls just like the real thing! "Aflame" displays a beautiful range of color, from golden yellow to flame orange, blood red, and an ashy edge reminiscent of Autumn bonfire embers. That edge also makes the piece look great with denim, a staple in most wardrobes. "Singe" is a more subtle and elegant colorway and looks great with all neutrals. "Psychedelic Scarab" colors are saturated and intense and will be a hit with lovers of peacock colors. The ombre chenille stitch rope is featured in the October 2016 Bead & Button magazine.

The tutorial is intended for the intermediate beader, although the bail presents some more advanced challenges. Diagrams, charts and photographs and included, with lots of explanatory text to help you along your way. The project requires comfort with Peyote stitch and combines Herringbone with Peyote in the bail. The rope is worked in charted Chenille stitch and the results are subtle and elegant.

Three colorways are given, (shown in the first listing photo) but any color gradation may be used, and design information given in the text will help you choose a successful gradation of your own.

You can also purchase the satin covered cord the rope is worked around here in this listing: https://www.etsy.com/listing/454042884/set-of-three-18-3mm-satin-covered-cords

The leaf takes 4-6 hours, the bail 1-2, and the rope, 6-8.

Please note, there are corrections to the last two pages of the first edition of this tutorial. If you have an early edition and are planning to make the "Psychedelic Scarab" colorway, please download the corrections. The current edition (H) contains these corrections. You should down load the HIB-16-FallFlameFinalH.pdf, for any colorway, as it contains the complete tutorial.

I have been looking for a really good leaf pattern. A beading friend posted her finished version on one of my facebook groups and when several of us inquired about the pattern, she provided the link. This is going to be wonderful to make, and I am sure that once I've made one I will want to make more.
