Description

Ghana, West Africa Barbershop sign. Paintings like these are found in many countries in West Africa and in parts of the Caribbean. This sign with the caption 'BOSS Hair Cut' and the American flag behind a portrait of a sharply quaft man was made in Ghana, W. Africa and was part of a sandwich board sign with a frame including small legs for use outside a barbershop (we only have one side). This sign also has the name of the artists studio 'Agyingo Arts' and the telephone number. This is a beauiful example of an African folk art painting, made of plywood with a wooden framework and wire attached for easy hanging, measuring approx. 44" x24" x3".
