This piece is made with a base layer of clear, and a layer of black art glass with orange and blue accents. It is 'contour' fired at 1400 degrees. A contour firing results in a surface that retains some texture, but is still smooth to the touch. The piece was then slump fired to fit a 'sushi' dish mold at 1175 degrees. It can be displayed as an art piece on an easel or displayed on a tabletop and used as a sushi dish, olive dish or a desk valet for keys, change, cell phone etc. Piece measures approximately 9" X 4" and is about 3/4 inches high.

It is food safe. Wash gently with tepid water, and mild soap. Do not use cleanser.

Do not microwave.

Firings are generally in one of three categories. Full fuse is completely flat. in a 'Tack' fuse, the added pieces are rounded, so there are no rough edges, but they have the appearance of being 'tacked' onto the base glass. A Contour fuse, means that the added pieces have some dimensionality but are not as defined as a tack fuse, and not as flat as a full fuse, but somewhere in the middle.
