I have three different turquoise for sale - three vintage, made of natural untreated turquoise, so this one has the most beautiful color! last photos shows all 3 together, but only 1- shown on the first photo - is for sale in this listing. others can be purchased separate and listed in different listings.
It is authentic vintage natural turquoise round beads 14k gold clasp necklace - in original condition!! this turquoise has variety of robin egg blue /blue greenish shades of the beads! the size of the beads approx from 11.7mm to 7mm and the weight if approx 48g! approx 20"
as it is authentic vintage necklace and possibly in original condition, cord is original and may need to be restrung in future (but even now it is in very good condition with no problems). could have it restrung, but I did not want to ruin authentic vintage item and I want the buyer to see that he is buying authentic item and can be sure nothing was added or replaced. as beads are untreated they show very slight oxidizing and patina.
made approx after 40ss
clasp made of solid 14k yellow gold and can be worn as pendant. it works well and has no problems.
it is rare to find NOT treated turquoise these days! Today, only small percent of natural, mined turquoise is hard enough to set in jewelry (because most of the turquoise is soft and porous, but some types of turquoise are more hard and do not need stabilizing - they are rare! this turquoise beads are very hard, like a rock. So most of turquoise mined today is stabilized to preserve the color and add hardness.
THIS necklace made of the turquoise mined long time ago, so there a chance that this mine does NOT produce any more/or closed - so this item can NOT be produced any more!
"Today, only 3 percent of natural, mined turquoise is hard enough to set. The rest, pulled from the mine’s remnants, is stabilized and sold in bulk. today is almost impossible to find a strand of turquoise which is round and not stabilized. " this is not my opinion - this is from popular web source.
smoke free environment and fast shipping! thank you!
